Karl's Faces of Claudia
images: models.com
Stirring up some controversy, German design quarterly, Stern Fotografie, featured six different covers of Claudia Schiffer photographed by fellow German, Karl Lagerfeld. Claudia has been a long time muse of Lagerfeld's, and the images selected are said to be some of Lagerfeld's favorites, but the controversy comes with the cover of Claudia wearing dark foundation and an afro wig. A spokesman reports that the images are meant to reflect mens' different fantasies (if I were one to offend easily, may point out the objectification of women inherent in this, but that would be a different article) and was in no way meant to offend. To me, a large part of fashion is about fantasy and role-play and imagination, but maybe this is pushing the boundary a little too far...or maybe not.
